Bedsores, also known as pressure ulcers or decubitus ulcers, are injuries to the skin and underlying tissues caused by prolonged pressure. These ulcers typically develop on areas of the body that cover bony prominences, such as the heels, ankles, hips, and tailbone.
At OPHA Rehabilitation Hospital, our experienced team of specialists and nursing staff conducts thorough evaluations of each patient’s overall health and a detailed clinical assessment of any existing wounds. We identify areas of skin damage and assess factors such as length, width, depth, and the presence of sinus tracts, necrotic tissue, or exudate. We also evaluate evidence of healing, such as granulation tissue.
By implementing comprehensive prevention strategies and individualized care plans, we aim to minimize the risk of bedsores and promote optimal healing for our patients.
OPHA offers comprehensive, patient-centered rehabilitation services with a focus on advanced therapies and compassionate care to enhance your well-being.
